Dr. Guikema recently moved to the University of Michigan, and he is building his research group there. He is currently most interested in talking with potential postdocs, Ph.D. students, and undergraduate students with deep interest in interdisciplinary research in sustainability, disasters, and risk analysis, strong backgrounds in mathematics and statistics, good computer programming skills, and strong communications ability. Most work in the group requires creativity, interdisciplinary thinking and training, and strong computational modeling skills. In addition, there may be opportunities for students with experience in Shiney Server, Matlab, and R programming for hourly positions.
